What connectors are available on your speaker cables?
Most Wireworld speaker cables feature our Uni-Term universal interchangeable bananas or spade lugs in silver or gold-plated. This system allows the user to swap out plug types with component changes without having to re-terminate cables. We use crimp on banana plugs and spade lugs on our least expensive products. Cables up to and including Equinox 10 may be terminated with Neutrik speakON connectors (2-pole and 4-pole are both available on Luna 10 and above). While speakON is a custom termination, there is no additional fee.
What is the best type of speaker wire for home audio?
What is optimal depends on the type of system you have. We offer a large range of speaker cables to fit every budget and system type. We would normally recommend the level of cable you use be commensurate with the level of components you own.
Will thicker speaker cable improve sound quality?
We have found that the quality of the conductor material, the design, and the insulation have more to do with high quality transparent cable performance than how thick a cable is. The gauge of a cable determines resistive loss, but that isn’t necessarily an indicator of performance. (Wireworld cables often outperform competitor’s cables that are larger gauge.)
Are your speaker cables compatible with all amplifiers and speakers?
Yes, though rare, sometimes custom plugs or adapters are required.
Can I customize the length or connectors of my speaker cables?
Yes, all Wireworld speaker cables are cut and terminated to order, so if custom lengths or plugs are required you can call or email us with your request.
